Match the Batt to the Wall

2x6 exterior walls: R-19 fiberglass batts, about 6¼ inches thick.
House-to-garage walls: treat as exterior walls; R-19 in 2x6 framing.
Interior walls: Rockwool Safe'n'Sound for sound control and fire resistance.

Installation Tips

Kraft facing faces the interior (heated) side.
Split batts around wiring and cut them neatly around boxes; don't compress.
Seal gaps at top and bottom plates before insulating.
Cover kraft facing with drywall.
